Release Notes

This is a new version of GeoMeda PostGIS data server which supports user rights. It means that only those feature classes, which the current user has rights to select, are visible in GeoMedia.

Issues fixed in this release
  • Fixed a small memory leek when writing modification log
  • Added ability to remember last connection parameters to Database Utilities
  • Added support for PostGIS 2.0 hiding more PostGIS meta tables (e.g. raster_columns). This support does NOT include the PostGIS 2.0 raster capabilities yet

Issues fixed in previous releases
  • Fixed problem when the connection properties control did not display the non-ASCII characters correctly
  • Added support for EPSG 3844
  • Fixed problem with renaming and deleting feature classes - IMPORTANT! - the gfeatures view must be recreated so that this issue is completely fixed. The attached script "GFeaturesView2.sql" can be used to accomplish this task. Another way is to drop and recreate the metadata using Database Utilities.
  • Fixed problem with WMS Get Feature Info command
  • Added support for EPSG 32054
  • Fixed a problem when gdo.gfeaturesbase table has been visible in GeoMedia. To hide this table, run the previous version of Database Utilities and uncheck this table in the feature classes list. Then load the new release.
  • Fixed a problem when coordinate system list has not been properly populated when trying to set the target coordinate system for Output to Feature Clasess command.
  • Added support for EPSG 2942 (updated definition), 3061, 3785 (updated definition), 3857 and 5016

General comment for the 1.0.1.* release
WARNING: To handle the user rights correctly, new GDO metadata schema is required. You can drop and recreate the metadata using PostGIS GDO Database Utilities. DB Utilities also allows to add the necessary privileges on the GDO schema to any of the database users.

If you don't want to recreate your GDO metadata, you can alter the schema manually:

create the gfeaturesbase table using CREATE TABLE AS construct:

CREATE TABLE gdo.gfeaturesbase AS SELECT * FROM gdo.gfeatures;

drop the gdo.gfeatures table and create the gdo.gfeatures view using the GFeaturesView.sql script.

The PostGIS GDO metadata are much more similar to the metadata of Oracle GDO now.

NOTE: The zip file also contains the MS VS 2010 C++ build in a separate folder.
